It is SCA Packaging Industrial Division's mission to develop design solutions that really work, adding value to our clients' supply chains. To achieve this we work to a four-step design process:
Research
We start with a thorough review of your supply chain operations. Following this we map the needs of the customer and the functions the packaging will need to fulfil. The end result will be a detailed project brief that will be used as a guideline for the next steps.
Explore
In this phase we explore different concept ideas. From here we generate first drafts and sketches sometimes combining features of different designs to result in the best overall concept. At this stage we often produce virtual and physical prototypes and evaluate them.
Challenge
To ensure our solution fits your specific requirements, we subject cases to a range of tests. The performance of our prototypes is evaluated along the supply chain or in our technical centres. Together with the customer we review the results and agree the most suitable options.
Validate
The final step is a last validation phase in which the selected concepts get tested more in-depth. If required, test runs will be passed to production in order to base our judgements on real life data. Our process ends successfully once we see one of our designs in production, performing as specified.
